I would like to thank you for visiting my website!  This has been a wonderful journey for myself.  I would just like to tell you about myself and what my rescue has to offer.

My name is Jenny Pulvermacher.  I work full time as a secretary to 4 UW Ophthalmologists.  I really like what I do and the people I work for and with.  I run this small Horse Rescue Ranch.  We are called Second Chance Horse Rescue Ranch.  I am nonprofit so donations can be tax deductible.

The horses that I have are very different.  I have horses that are broke to ride and some that are companion horses only.  Some day I would like to only have horses that cannot be ridden but have a lot of life left to live.  I love to find good adoptive homes for my horses.  They are wonderful beings.  All horses are always current on vaccines, wormer, microchipped and vet checks.  My volunteers help me with anything on the farm that needs to be repaired to all aspects of horse care.  Some of my horses are young and are being trained to ride as well.  One of the horses is even being trained to drive at this time!

I would like to tell you about my rescue and the way I like to run my program.  Once you find a horse that you like, you can email or call me to say you are interested.  I will then send you an application to fill out.  It asks for references about yourself and how you will be caring for a horse.  If you fill out an application, it does NOT obligate you in getting a horse from my rescue.  i will either approve or disapprove your application.  But in that time, I want you to come out and interact with the horse you are interested in.  Get to know me and the horse.  Remember the biggest policy/rule that I have is that if you DO adopt a horse from me, is that if EVER you cannot ever care or keep this horse, it MUST be returned back to my rescue.  For the lifetime of the horse!  I dont ever want my horses to be shipped from home to home and then finally ending up at an auction and then becoming the property of  a slaughter buyer and becoming meat for overseas people!  This is not my purpose for saving horses!  If I dont keep track of them, how can I call myself a rescue??

Anyhow, I am also on Petfinder.com with my horses and sometimes horses that people are trying to place, but i do not have the room for them at that time.  I welcome visitors at any time as long as I am there and I also welcome emails and calls asking for help or any concerns that you may have.

Donating to rescue groups can be just about anything!  Used tack that you dont use anymore, bringing by some feed that we use, monetary donations and of course volunteering!!   Even good garage sale items that i can sell is useful!  I also need people to help with fund raisers if that is what you like to do!

Thanks so much for your continued support and I hope if you have suggestions or concerns, to please email me with your thoughts!  i can use all of the help I can get to keep this going!

My original horses.  Shayla, my first rescue horse, Missy, Prize, Jack (Papa) and Mystique.  Jack, Missy and Prize are still with me. Shayla went to horse heaven and Mystique was adopted!

Right now, I am pretty full up.  But if you would like, you can view my page that says other rescues.  There are more rescues out there and they may be able to take in your horse.  If your horse is disabled and/or older please consider whether your horse should be given to another home.  You may want to consider euthanasia.  I know its hard, but its a dignified ending to your horse.  Also your horse feels comfortable at its own home.  I know its hard.  I have done this as well.  But remember that the rescue groups cannot take in horses that cant be ridden.  We do take in some, but not all.  We would never be able to continue if we had only companion horses.  I am not saying all older and disabled horses need to be put down, but some of the ones I have seen or spoken to their owners on the phone probably do.  This is your responsibility!  This is a part of life!  Give your horse the peace he/she deserves if they are in pain or very old.
