Still available August 2009 Lady has had quite a few rides on her. She is technically green broke. She is such a good girl and loves to please. She is being ridden western. Mostly walk, trot and alittle bit of cantering. She has been ridden in a large arena. She is a very pretty girl. She will need a confident rider. But she takes care and listens to her rider. She is a beautiful girl who has alot of years left in her to ride!
Lady- below- A registered 19 year old Morgan mare. She was in a Morgan seizure (along with Lily) in 2004. Both horses had been adopted out, but I don't think Lady was ridden much. She now has impeccable ground manners and is now just learning to ride. She is a sweet, sweet pea, but an extreme wimp when it comes to other horses. She is so gorgeous. Update on April 7, 2009 - Lady has been doing SO well in her riding! she is still really at a walk- trot, but has done alittle cantering. She is beautiful. she is up to date on her vaccines, farrier and worming. She will also be microchipped. She really likes to please and we are really working on her cues. She has had both English and Western saddles on her, but we are still using a halter with reins and no bit. She listens very well.
Adoption fee is $450.00
August 25, 2009 Daevin (pronouced Dave-in). Picture is below- Daevin is a 10 year old Arab. He is broke to ride, has done some jumping (2 ft), been on trails, arenas, parades and some shows. He has also been trained to ground drive, but hasnt been hooked up to a cart yet. He is a great and loving boy. He is shorter about 14.1 hands. He was starved when he was younger and has a bit of a sway back. He will only need an extra pad or a sway-pad under his saddle. Been ridden both English and Western. He is a true Arab and loves to go, so he needs a confident rider to tell him when he can go! Daevin was surrendered to the rescue because his previous owners were not experienced riders for an Arab. Not to say they didnt try tho! But they kept him up with his longeing and his ground work and is extremely good for the farrier, vet, wormers, shots. He is up to date on all of his vaccines, just had his feet done as well. Wormer every 2 months. He is a great boy. He is NOT an alpha and gets pushed around alot. He absolutely LOVES to play with the yearlings. Especially Baby Breeze. Comes when he is called. Easy keeper.
Adoption Fee - $500.00
Cheyenne- Update on Cheyenne 09/17/2009- Cheyenne is in essence of the words "Pasture Ornament"! She has no boundries on my lawn. She stays on my lawn with Harley. She will never be able to be ridden. She is my mascot of the horses and will greet visitors and say goodbye to them by their cars! Her previous injuries is just too great to take a chance to train her to ride. She is very spoiled and loves people. Her foot and leg will swell at times and then we give her meds to make her comfortable. For now, she still has quality of life, but she will stay here at the ranch forever.
Below 4 year old QH palimino- She came into my program pretty skinny and no manners. She is getting ground trained and we will adopt her out before she gets trained to ride but we will train her if she doesn't find a home before hand. She is extremely pretty but does have an old injury to her back leg that doesnt appear that it will be a problem come riding time. She is more of an alpha horse or thinks she is! She is almost up to her ideal weight (wish I could say that for myself!)
Update on Cheyenne 040709- We are really not to sure of Cheyenne's riding capabilities at this time. After the Fair we will doing xrays on her back leg. One day she is fine and the next she is limping on it. Might have to do with the colder weather also. I have a farrier who is working on getting her hoof back in shape. She is a sweet girl and not an alpha girl at all.
Sponsor fee will be $50.00 a month for feed, wormers, farrier and hugs!
Below is Harley- He is a 20 year old TB gelding. Was once a racer! But we cannot really see his tattoo that well. He has a story to tell. Was once with a loving owner. She let him go to a couple who had Harley gives rides to their autistic grandson. The grandfather died and the grandmother did not know how to care for the horses. So he got very, very thin. The owner before them, found out and took him back. Well she then lost her job before she could get all of his weight back on him. So far we have put on about 150 pounds on him and have another 150 pounds to go. He eats about 22 pounds of grain and senior feed each day (split into 2 feedings) and also gets free feed of hay. He is just gaining his weight slowly that is for sure. But we really cant assess his riding abilities until he is up to or close to his ideal weight. Boy, is this guy a love bug. He is wonderful. He is a big and beautiful 16.2 TB gelding. He also gets the lawn for his pasture area. Doesnt like to do much more than eat and walk slowly!
Sponsoring this guy would be about $80.00 a month. We should be able to get his weight back on by early next year. Suppliments, oil, senior, sweet feed, wormers, farrier and hay is what he gets. Oh yes, and of course he gets BIG hugs!
SPONSOR! KOBB- Kobb is a 31 year old Arab gelding. He is the top dog in his herd. His herd consists of Honey, Breeze, and Daevin. He came from another rescue that had to bring him back into their program but had no room. I am so glad they gave me Kobb. He is a wonderful addition to my rescue program. He got skinny because he was unable to fight for his food. He quickly gained weight is a beautiful boy. You cannot even tell he is 31! A true Arab and he is wonderful runner! He loves his herd and really takes care of them. He will stay in my program forever- I hope! I hope to have all sorts of "Kobb's" someday in my program. He has been ridden and given love to lots of families over his years. He needs a great retirement and he is enjoying every minute! I love him so! I want him to know that his last years will be filled with love, good food (he loves his senior grain!), grooming and whatever else he wants to do. He is so good with the babies as well. He used to take care of Breeze when he lost his mom, stood by him all of the time and protected him. Too bad he didnt have milk, because he would have nursed him!
Monthly fee to sponsor Kobb - $50.00
FOR SPONSORSHIP ONLY! Honey - She is a 9 year old Paint Mare. Above picture... She was a surrender along with Shadow, Breeze's mom. She is completely blind and very feral. She does not trust anyone including myself. She will get kind of close to me when I take her grain, but she does not allow humans to touch her. I am not sure completely of her past and why she is like this. She has been with me for 2 years now. She is beautiful, but just does not like people in general. She was a great mom to Maverick. When we have to do her vaccines, we have to have 6 people with a round pen panel to put her up against a wall for my vet to sedate her and then she gets her feet done and shots. She gets a daily wormer pellett in her grain each day. She is so very beautiful. I sure wish she would trust me.
Monthly sponsor fee is $50.00
Baby Breeze - Adoption fee is $450.00
Duke- a 6 year old registered Paint. He has ring bone. He is mostly pain free and doesnt limp unless he runs alot. And the boy loves to play and run! He was trained to drive carts last year and did wonderful. He is a lifer here at the ranch. He is my chaos boy! He is bored alot, so he gets his herd to run around and tries to play and give them alot of grief! I almost see them smile when i take him out of the paddock to work with him! As if to say they can now relax! We are also going to teach him tricks. He is very smart. He likes to go to different places when I go to promote the rescue. He is a great boy.
MONTHLY SPONSORSHIP IS $50.00 A MONTH
Baby Breeze- foaled April 7, 2008. he is a pony/mustang mix. He is a hoot! Loves to play and has the mentality of a pony for sure! He will also be joining us at the Midwest Horse Fair this year from April 17-19, 2009 at the Alliant Center in Madison, WI. He was born on my farm and lost his mom at 4 days old. He had a pretty rough start and you all may remember him from last year at the Fair. We had to bring him since he was being fed every 2 hours. He was adopted out, but was returned due to financial reasons and moving. So he is back with us and is the same little boy. He is black with a dorsal strip down his back. Pretty boy. Needs a firm hand, because he doesnt take his training all that serious all of the time! Up to date on his vaccines, farrier and worming. He was the first of my rescue horses to get microchipped!
Adoption fee is$450.00
Baby Breeze taking a nap while Honey and Kobb watch over him!
MAX 04/24/2008 Max is a wonderful boy. He is actually liking my geldings! He playsover the fence with Duke every single day. He isn't so protective overhis girls much anymore. I let him out with almost the whole herd to the back pasture and he doesn't try to show his protective side on behalf of his girls anymore. Max is greenbroke and loves attention. He has come a long ways from the boy who I couldn't catch when I first got him! He doesn't act his age and loves to run! He likes to show off for sure!
Updated on 083007-Boy,we just love Max! He is a wonderful boy. He is getting used to having geldings around him and his girls. We actually have Sweetheart,Ireland and Lady with him. He loves his girls! I would prefer someone who had their own place to adopt Max. My trainer has worked with him earlier this year and will be giving him a refresher course soon. He is green broke and has A LOT of get up and go. So he needs a very experienced rider. he listens very well and we had him at the Midwest Horse Fair for 3 days and he did really well riding in the outdoorarena with lots of other horses. My trainer, Makon Buzzell also had him at a stable for the St. Judes ride and he did really well with steep and hard trails. he even went with a couple of other geldings! he is still in great shape and just gorgeous to look at. He does like to make you work to catch him, but after a few tries will just give up and stand there for you to put the halter on him. I swear he thinks its a game! he has no problems leaving his mares, but will get a bit excited when they leave him. Adoption fee is $500.00returned in December 2006 20 YEAR OLD MORGAN GELDING. IS REGISTERED WITH THE MORGAN ASSOCIATION. HE HAS great BACKGROUND! Maxcame back to me because of a couple of different reasons. He is stillVERY adoptable. But he has a few quirks. He can only be with Mares inhis paddock/pasture area or with NO mares at all. He was probably withnothing but mares. He is being trained right now to ride. He is maresour tho! He takes care of his mares and always wants to stay withhim. He will be able to be ridden as my trainer is doing that now, butjust by his mares. He listens and is a very, very good boy. He isstunning to look at! He listens very well and really is a nice, niceboy. He is strong and doesnt look his 20 years! I will be bringinghim to the Midwest Horse Fair this year (April 20-22, 2007) He is just15 hands and is the typical Morgan. He is very, very beautiful! Hehas been riden English for now, but has had a western saddle on. He isno longer afraid of people and will like to play with his mares fromtime to time. But he is the protector! He is a very intelligenthorse. Picks up on working with him very, very quickly. Doesnt spook and is always very aware of his surroundings! He should be ready to beadopted out by the Midwest Horse Fair. He will need an experiencedrider. But he does take little kids for rides while being led. Heis the perfect herd leader. He will protect his herd from anything! Is used to dogs barking in his face also! (my German shorthair- Hunter!Ha!) Maxis a wonderful boy. He is a dark bay. Last year he was confiscatedfrom a farm who had too many horses. He went to another rescue andthey were full up, so they asked me to take him in along withSweetheart and Blaze. Heis a good boy and looks wonderful. He doesnt always like to beapproached but he is getting better. Once you start petting andgrooming him, he is yours! He is good with other horses also. Ingreat shape! Is up to date with all of his shots, worming andfarrier. Not sure if he is broke yet, but we will be trying him outsoon! He is very close to Sweetheart. Is very protective of hismares. Would do best if he has his own pasture or paddock with mares. Can be next to geldings, but shouldnt be in the same paddock withgeldings or stallions. Heallows us now to approach him and loves to be groomed. Just had a fewtrust issues, but he is very good now. He is so sweet and verybeautiful. His trot is really, really nice!
