This is Jewels. I purchased Jewels at an auction in Waukon, IA. She was just barely a weanling. She was a beautiful and frightened palimino filly with papers. When I got her home, she was very afraid of people. She wouldnt let me do much with her. With the help of my volunteers, she was able to be lead rope trained, pick up her feet, groomed and was able to be touched everywhere on her body. She loved to be groomed. She was placed on my website and caught the eye of a great family in Illinois! She has been put in shows in her state and last year came away with Grand Champion in Halter! She is now 5 years old and is being ridden by Sam. She and Sam just love each other so much and I am so proud that they were able to take her into their family. They are very horse orientated. Sam and Jewels love to ride right in their pasture and Jewels takes very good care of Sam! Jewels is about 16 hands and is so very beautiful! Love those Palimino's!! Thank you Sam and family for giving Jewels a wonderful home! Picture is recent, the camera date is not! Arent they beautiful together??
Sept 2009- Thank you to the family in Beloit, WI who adopted Mr. Butters! Their daughter, Alex will be doing some riding and hopefully some 4-H with him! They absolutely love him. He will give the girls more confidence to ride.
September 12, 2008 I would like to tell you of Josh, Mindy and Ireland! Below!
I rescued Ireland last May 2007 at the Equity Auction Sale. She was the very last horse and I had succeeded in not getting a single horse! I was pretty full up and came really for some used tack. Ireland was a 2 year old (small)QH filly. She was actually penned with a BIG paint stud also about 2 years old. The slaughter buyers were bidding on her. She looked so pitiful and had a good gait coming in to the area for bidding. She is sorrel in color and had a big white patch on her neck that looks like Ireland. The owners were trying to downsize their herd. Well i didn't have her for to long before Josh and Mindy looked at her on Petfinder.com and fell in love with her. I was a bit apprehensive because they are green along with their new horse Ireland. We also knew that it was a big possibility that Ireland was pregnant. And of course she was with out luck! We were a bit worried about it since she is smaller and only 2 years old. No way would we advocate letting a filly of 2 get pregnant on purpose! She gave birth to Izabella on April 3, 2008. She is a replica of Ireland. Ireland was a good mom, thank goodness! I went up over Labor Day weekend to see all of them! They just split up Ireland and Izabella to wean her. They are both doing well. Izabella has 2 other foals that are with her and Ireland is back in the mares herd. They took Ireland out for me to see how they are training her. They are training her to ride now. they have hired a trainer to help them and they are doing a fantastic job! They are only doing light work on her since she is just 3 now, but doing fabulous. I am so proud of them! They also gave me great news and they are now barn managers at their stable! They will move into the farm house there and oversee the boarders and farm! They are very excited. They plan on keeping both Ireland and her filly Izabella. here are some pictures of them.
